The Safe Haven

Duane Michaels is a genius.

Sound of Silver

Without fail, every time I hear the first 79 seconds of "All My Friends" I feel like a bomb is going off inside my body. More songs should bring about this feeling.

Shut Up I am Dreaming of Places

I couldn't get myself to be productive today so I watched Synecdoche, New York instead. Kaufman is my favorite of all time:

"Pretend we’re fairies. I’m a girl fairy. My name is La-ru-lee. And you’re a boy fairy. You’re name is Teeteree. Pretend we fight each other. And I say stop hitting me or I’ll die. And you say okay, but you’re fibbing. And you hit me again. Now I have to die. Pretend you say you don’t want me to die. --I don’t want you to die--But I have to--But I’ll miss you--I have to. And you’ll have to wait a million years to see me again. And I’ll be put in a box. And all I’ll need is a tiny glass of water. And lots of –tiny pieces of pizza. And the box will have wings like an airplane.—Where will it take you?—Home."

The Power I Afford You is the One I Wish I Had Over You

I Summon You

Iman was once asked to recall the most romantic thing her husband (David Bowie) had ever done for her. "He paid construction workers to scale the nine floors of the next-door building," she said, "and have them graffiti DB ♥ I on the wall opposite our bedroom in four-foot letters."
