Ice Water

A famous space explorer by profession,
The president came to you with a question:
“Could you scour the depths of the oceans seven?
We can’t spare the funds to explore the heavens!”
You said yes
I told you it was cold and dark
You said that you were scared of sharks
And water
The government paid for your brief training
Concerning sea life captures, algae straining
And planned to send you out with a crew and sub
You spent weeks snorkeling in the bathtub
You were a mess
